Largs Street, Darra street view perspective – artist’s impression
We are proposing to build new social housing at Largs Street, Darra.
The new development will deliver a place to call home for approximately 32 Queenslanders eligible for social housing.
There will be one five-storey building including 16 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom apartments to support singles, couples and smaller families.
Key features
The new development is close to a shopping centre, public transport, schools, sport facilities, and services.
The development will feature:
- a small open communal space
- car parking and bike storage
- screened bedroom windows and balconies to ensure privacy of the tenants and neighbouring properties.
The homes will be designed to meet accessibility requirements, in line with the Social Housing Design Guideline.
The Inala Housing Service Centre will manage the property and the tenancies.
Timing
Construction is planned for late 2026 to be ready for people to move in by early 2028.
