A Master Agreement for community housing providers
We have developed a Master Agreement for community housing providers, to support the community housing sector to deliver more social and affordable housing.
We worked with registered community housing providers and experts within the community housing and banking sectors to develop the agreement. It will be ready for implementation from 1 July 2025.
About the Master Agreement
The Master Agreement is a universal, long-term agreement between the Department of Housing and Public Works and registered community housing providers. It is a contractual document that sits within the funding framework, creating the right settings for funded providers to leverage existing department investment and drive sector growth.
A Master Agreement will be agreed with each community housing provider, to replace:
- existing lease agreements
- historic capital funding agreements
- service agreements.
Benefits of a Master Agreement
A Master Agreement will improve the way registered community housing providers work with the Queensland Government.
For registered community housing providers, having a Master Agreement in place means:
- flexibility to grow
- quicker processes
- less red tape
- a reduction in reporting
- greater revenue predictability.
