New social housing on Anzac Avenue, Redcliffe

We are building new social housing on Anzac Avenue, Redcliffe.

Everyone deserves a place to call home and this new development will provide much needed housing to people at risk of homelessness.

Moreton Bay Housing Service Centre will refer tenants from the Social Housing Register and will manage the building.

Key features of the development

The new development will provide 49 self-contained homes for approximately 70 Queenslanders in need of homes.

The new development will include an 8-storey building comprised of 1 and 2-bedroom homes.

The project is well-located, close to a shopping centre, public transport, open space and services including the Redcliffe Hospital.

Features of the building include:

  • an open communal area
  • secure lift lobby
  • car parking
  • bike storage and
  • a dedicated meeting space on the ground level to provide support to tenants.

All homes will be accessible to meet the needs of older Queenslanders and people with disability.

Consideration has been given to the local neighbourhood and heritage character of the area in developing the project's design including retention of heritage-listed trees around the building.

Timing

Consultation on the project has now closed.

Following the appointment of a builder, we expect construction to begin in late 2025, with residents moving in during 2027.
