Social housing in Westcourt, Cairns

We are building new social housing on Ascot Avenue in Westcourt to deliver a place to call home for Queenslanders eligible for social housing.

The development will be made up of 21 two-bedroom units, providing homes for approximately 42 people including singles, couples and small families.

Timing

Construction is planned to commence in late 2026 to be ready for people to move in by late 2027.

Community consultation

Consultation on the social housing development on Ascot Avenue, Westcourt has now closed and we have considered the feedback received during the consultation period.
