A Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) is an agency that receives government funding to provide accommodation, accommodation related services and/or assistance and support services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Notes:

1. The number for March 2026 represents data based on a snapshot taken on 7 May 2026.
2. The number is not finalised, subject to change and may be different from other public data.
3. A Queenslander is counted as receiving Specialist Homelessness Services when they receive a direct service from SHS agencies; they may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
4. SHS client counts change over time for many reasons and are not necessarily due to changes in the demand for homelessness services.

Short-term temporary accommodation includes people supported through the Immediate Housing Response, Regional Discretionary Fund, and Refuge Accommodation Assistance package.
