Townsville Youth Foyer

Townsville Youth Foyer has opened its doors to local young people.

The foyer offers 40 self-contained units for young people to rent, while being supported to achieve their education and employment goals.

The foyer provides accommodation for vulnerable young people aged 16 to 25 years. These young tenants are supported to gain essential, practical life skills to help them transition into independent living.

Young people must be in employment, education or training to be eligible to live at the youth foyer. They will also pay 25% of their income in rent.

Experienced youth support staff provide 24/7 on-site assistance for the young tenants and ensure support is available when needed.

The youth foyer has incorporated design ideas from local young people and key stakeholders to ensure it meets the needs of its tenants and integrates into the community. It provides a high-quality, architecturally designed building that enhances the local streetscape.

On-site management and support

Townsville Youth Foyer is managed by Mission Australia in partnership with Mission Australia Housing. Mission Australia provides 24-hour support and supervision to the young tenants living there.

Mission Australia is a not-for-profit organisation with expertise in managing supported housing. It has a long history of achieving positive outcomes for young people throughout Queensland.
