The Southport Supportive Housing Project will be located at 5–9 Scarborough Street, Southport.

This project will deliver around 200 social and affordable homes for a range of people, including people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness on the Gold Coast. Residents may include people sleeping rough, women escaping domestic violence and older women.

The new high-rise development will provide one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio apartments, with onsite support services for residents.

This supportive accommodation model will provide long-term, secure and appropriate homes for Queenslanders who need both a place to live and support to improve their wellbeing and social connections.

Onsite support may include tenancy management, employment support and more, depending on residents’ needs.

The project model has been developed in consultation with the housing sector and people with lived experience of homelessness. A community housing provider and specialist homelessness service provider will operate the project.

Construction has now commenced with residents expected to move into the building in 2027.
