Explanatory notes
A Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) is an agency that receives government funding to provide accommodation, accommodation related services and/or assistance and support services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

- The number for May 2025 represents data based on a snapshot taken on 10 July 2025.

- A Queenslander is counted as receiving specialist homelessness services when they receive a direct service from SHS agencies; they may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Short-term temporary accommodation includes people supported through the Immediate Housing Response, Regional Discretionary Fund, and Refuge Accommodation Assistance package.
Note: This is operational data collected by Specialist Homelessness Service providers and departmental staff that has not been subject to rigorous data cleansing and validation at the point in time it was reported, and may therefore differ from other published sources of data.

Households who have applied and are eligible for public and community housing are placed on the Queensland social housing register. Households who can accept an offer of housing are counted as having an active application.
