First Nations Strategy Unit
The First Nations Strategy Unit is a First Nations led stand-alone business unit within the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy.
The unit has responsibility to develop and coordinate CHDE’s responses to the whole-of-government First Nations reform agenda. The First Nations Strategy Unit plays a key role in supporting business areas to integrate First Nations commitments into their work through strategy, advice, and evaluation.
The unit applies a First Nations lens to the department’s design, delivery, and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with the Queensland Government’s First Nations agenda. It is also helping to position CHDE to reframe its relationship with First Nations peoples.
