Links
There are a number of different types of links that you may see on this website. Below is an explanation of these links and how you can identify them.
Internal links
Internal links are those links that link to other pages within the Department of Housing's website. There is no icon before these links. Move your mouse over the link and the name of the page that you will be taken to is displayed.
External Government links

External Government links are those links that link to other Australian government websites (including local, state and federal sites). The external link icon (
) appears before these links. Move your mouse over the link and the name of the website you will visit is displayed.
Other external links

Other external links are those links that end in anything other than .gov.au. The external link icon (
) appears before these links. Move your mouse over the link and the name of the website you will visit is displayed. You are also informed that this link will open in a new browser window.
PDF links

Clicking this link will open a PDF. The PDF link icon (
) appears before these links and the size of the PDF appears after the link in brackets. Move your mouse over the link to view the name and size of the PDF. You will need to go back in your browser to return to the department's website.

Video links

These links will open a movie file. The video link icon (
) appears before these links and the size of the file appears after the link in brackets. Move your mouse over the link to view the name and size of the file. You will need to go back in your browser to return to the department's website.

PowerPoint links

The PowerPoint link icon (
) appears before these links and the size of the file appears after the link in brackets. Move your mouse over the link to view the name and size of the file.
Clicking the link will give you the option to Open or Save the file. If you choose to open the file, you will need to go back in your browser to return to the department's website.
Email links

Clicking an email link will open your email program, create a new email and put the email address in the To: field. The email link icon (
) appears before these links. Move your mouse over the link to view details about who you will be emailing.
Skip links
If you are using assistive technology such as a screen reader to browse this site, skip links are provided at the beginning of the page to allow you to move quickly to key information such as the primary navigation, secondary navigation or content. The links are not visible in a graphical browser.
