How can the department help me?
Through its Community Rent Scheme, the department provides funds to community organisations to provide short- to medium-term accommodation to public housing applicants in severe and immediate housing need.
Through A Place to Call Home, the Queensland Government gives families who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, a social housing rental property for the duration of their need and up to 12 months' coordinated help across the spectrum of social support services.
If you need one of the above services, please contact your local Department of Housing office for advice.
Are you a person escaping domestic violence?
Contact the Domestic Violence Telephone Service on 1800 811 811.
What other services are available to me?
There are other specialised services that may be of assistance to people in need of immediate or emergency accommodation or support.
Contact the
Tenant Advice and Advocacy Service (39Kb) for discussion and/or referral in your area.
