Directions paper - Strengthening social housing: A strategy to build capacity of not-for-profit housing providers in Queensland

Feedback on the PDF discussion paper (166Kb) closed on 11 February 2008.

The department subsequently developed a revised set of resourcing arrangements, which are described in the following paper PDF Strengthening social housing: A strategy to build capacity of not-for-profit housing providers in Queensland. (334Kb)

These arrangements will be progressively implemented from 1 July 2008.

List of registered legal entities

Under the Housing Act 2003 the State can, through the Department of Housing, assist legal entities to provide housing services to people in need. All legal entities receiving assistance from the Department of Housing under the Housing Act 2003 must be registered as providers under that Act. The department maintains a list of all providers who are registered legal entities. The list is current at February 2008. A legal entity is an incorporated body that can enter into contracts which can be enforced by and against that entity. A body may be incorporated under different state and federal legislation, e.g. Associations Incorporations Act 1981 (Qld) and Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
