Community Housing information bulletin – December 2007
Welcome to the final edition of the Community Housing information bulletin for 2007.
Providers, tenants and department staff have worked hard during the year to create new and expanded partnerships in the Queensland social housing system. In 2007 these partnerships have achieved:
- successful implementation of the combined waitlist management and allocation activities between community and local-government-managed housing providers and Department of Housing regional offices, and
- consolidation of some organisations to strengthen service delivery.
This edition of the Community Housing information bulletin reviews some of the work completed in 2007 and highlights areas the department aims to support in 2008. Some of this past and future work includes:
- promoting consolidation with other like-minded organisations,
- implementing a consistent and early intervention focused Performance Management Framework,
- assisting organisations to comply with applicant referral processes,
- planning the role of transitional housing in the implementation of one social housing system, and
- coordinating the 2007 Water-Wise Garden Awards and other Tenant Participation activities.
