Community Housing information bulletin - April 2007

Welcome to the second edition of the Community Housing Information Bulletin.

On 14 December 2006, amendments to the Housing Regulation 2003 were approved by the Governor in Council. The amendments are aimed at simplifying access to housing assistance and ensuring those most in need are housed equitably and appropriately. While these changes impact on all registered providers, some of the changes are only relevant to long term and affordable housing providers.

In this issue, we provide an overview of the information sessions held across the State in January and February, an update on the work of the Queensland Community Housing Standards and Accreditation System, and details on the next National Social Housing Survey
