Community Housing information bulletin - December 2006
Welcome to the first issue of the Community Housing Information Bulletin. The previous Community Housing News has changed slightly in focus and this new information bulletin will provide up-to-date information on the department’s transition to one social housing system.
The Director-General of the Department of Housing, Natalie MacDonald, recently announced the establishment of a new service area within the Department of Housing. The former service areas of Community Housing and Public Housing have amalgamated to form the new Community and Public Housing service area, which commenced operation on 30 October.
Jennifer Clark is the General Manager of Community and Public Housing and Julie-Ann McCullough is the Assistant General Manager. Julie-Ann will focus mainly on the Community Housing activities of the service area and the co-ordination of the one social housing system agenda across both public and community housing.
In this issue, we provide updates on one social housing system, the Urban Consolidation Strategy, amendments to the Housing Regulation 2003 and the Community Housing Standards and Accreditation System.
