Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan: Investment in the not-for-profit social housing sector in Queensland

The Australian Government’s Nation Building - Economic Stimulus Plan includes $6.4 billion for social housing over a three and half year period (2008-9 to 2011-12).  An estimated $1.3 billion is anticipated to be available for maintenance, upgrades and the construction of new social housing in Queensland.

Discussion Paper: Realigning transitional housing in one social housing system

The discussion paper identifies the key policy and operational changes required to align transitional housing with one social housing system. The paper is available for comment until 2 June 2008.

Consultation on the National Community Housing Standards Manual

Significant progress has been made on the review of the National Community Housing Standards Manual.

The Standards have been revised based on national consultation to date. State and Territory governments are currently arranging further consultation on the draft Standards.
