A Rental Grant is a once-only grant of two weeks rent to help meet some of the costs associated with moving into private rental accommodation.

The Department offers targeted loan schemes to help eligible people buy their own home.
Mortgage Relief loans

A Mortgage Relief loan provides short-term assistance to people experiencing difficulties with their home loan repayments as a result of an unforeseen change in their circumstances.
Home modification assistance
The department has a number of programs to help eligible people make necessary modifications to their homes that will assist older people and people with a disability.
Community funding programs

The department works in partnership with not-for-profit organisations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander councils and local governments to provide community-based solutions to local housing need.
