The Research House in Rockhampton is a four bedroom home, doubling as a research centre to trial and validate Smart Housing.

The Research House is being monitored for an initial period of three years from November 2002 to December 2005, by the Queensland Government and its research partners, the Central Queensland University and the Queensland University of Technology.

Information on the research methodology is available.

Research results have been published in the Research House Annual Water Use Study Report and the Research House Social Impact Study Conference Paper.

For more information on the design decision-making process made in designing the home, download the Research House Design Decision-Making Document.
