In line with the Queensland Government's priority of Building Queensland's Regions, the Department of Housing is placing particular emphasis on services and activities that target rural and remote communities. The purpose of the Rural and Remote Housing Report is to provide a comprehensive listing of all activities being undertaken by the Department of Housing to improve people's lives through housing in rural and remote communities.

Queensland is the most decentralised state in Australia. The department's programs and services to rural and remote areas of Queensland play an important role in underpinning the economic strength and development of our State.
