The Minister for Housing: Ethical decision-making
As a Minister of the Queensland Government I am concerned to ensure that the highest standards of ethics and integrity are inherent in any decision-making process in my portfolio, that all people are treated honestly and fairly and with proper regard for their rights and obligations and that the outcome of any decision-making process is in the best interests of the community. All citizens will be treated equally and there is no room for any preferential consideration.
Accordingly, if I receive a proposal for any matter concerning my portfolio or an approach to intervene in any decision-making process in my portfolio I will, unless the public interest requires otherwise, refer matters to my relevant portfolio Department or statutory authority for investigation or action as appropriate, and reporting to me so that a response may be provided.
In the event that a proposal or approach referred to above involves a conflict between my personal interests and my official duties as Minister, I will refer the proposal or approach to the relevant portfolio Department, statutory authority or other public official for direct response to the person making the proposal or approach.
