Overview of employment
The Department of Housing employs approximately 1,200 people across Queensland in a wide variety of professions.

There are several ways of obtaining information about vacancies in the department:
Smart jobs and careers gives details of vacancies in Queensland Government departments and agencies with links to position descriptions;- the
Public Service Vacancies Gazette lists job vacancies in each Government department providing locality, fortnightly salary classification and closing date for receipt of application; and - the Employment section of major newspapers lists public service vacancies, including selected vacancies for the Department of Housing. Please note that all jobs appear in the Gazette before being advertised in newspapers.
