Client Services

Deidre Mulkerin, General Manager Client Services, oversees the primary service delivery arm of the department.

The Client Services area is the department's primary service delivery arm, which provides the department's products and services to a range of clients across the State and represents the 'public face' of the department.

Client Services delivers these products and services through a network of 18 area offices and six client service centres across the State. Client Services also runs a call centre for responsive maintenance requests in the Brisbane metropolitan region and for Indigenous councils throughout the State. In addition, Client Services' central office comprises the Service Development and Review, Regional Operations, Child Safety and Disability and Business Support business areas.

Area offices represent the department across all levels of government, the community and industry, in relation to a broad range of issues impacting on housing supply and delivery at the local level.

Area office staff help clients in housing need with advice and access to a range of housing assistance services. For those clients most in need who are or become tenants of social housing, staff also assist them with sustaining their tenancies by providing individual support and working closely with other agencies and organisations to achieve this.

Client Services also monitors the impacts of the department's products and services to assess whether these are best matched to clients' needs. This enables the department to continuously improve its service delivery and hence, improve outcomes for clients.
